Health promotion

FISP’s services in the area of health promotion currently include the following projects:

Nutrition and physical activity

ZüMEB project

Information about nutrition and physical activity for children up to primary school age

The ZüMEB (Zürcher Migrationsprojekt für gesunde Ernährung und Bewegung) project is designed to inform migrants of the importance of a healthy diet and regular exercise for children’s well-being and for them maintaining a healthy weight. The intention is to primarily reach parents of children in kindergarten and primary school. The project forms part of the cantonal "Ernährung und Bewegung" (Nutrition and exercise) action programme.

DAFGE project

Teaching material for German as a foreign language on health-related topics

The DAFGE project combines learning German with the topic of healthy and sustainable nutrition. It supports migrants in learning German while also gaining knowledge about healthy nutrition.
The aim is for participants to receive information about healthy nutrition while learning German. They should understand why healthy eating is important and be motivated to take good care of their diet. In this way, the project aims to help more people eat healthily.

Mental Health

ZüMPG project

Information on the mental health of children and young people
The ZüMPG (Zürcher Migrationsprojekt zur Stärkung der psychischen Gesundheit von Kindern und Jugendlichen) hopes to expand migrants’ knowledge about child and parent’s mental health. The project includes information and discussion events, information stands, contributions in a variety of media (such as social media posts, newspaper, online platforms, podcasts and local radio stations) and targeted distribution of material on this topic. We hope these campaigns will make migrants in the canton of Zurich aware of their family members’ mental health, and encourage and enable them to strengthen it. The project forms part of the cantonal "Psychische Gesundheit" (Mental Health) action programme.
